data acquisition systems

UEIDAQ products which have 10 years of availability guarantee are used to build DAQ systems for lab or field applications. There are over 60 modules for any types of signal, sensors and buses including; Voltage, Current, Torque, Force, Acceleration, Sound, Strain-Gage along with CANbus, ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553, Serial buses.

UEI processors have a wide selection of buses for connection including UDP, TCP-IP, EtherCAT, ModBus, OPC-UA.

Measurement and control modules have current and voltage read-back, self-check, open-broken sensor detection, built-in test capabilities to ensure system is working as expected.

UEI platfrom modules are programmed with many industry standard languages like MatLab, Simulink, Labview, C-C#. All required examples and ready to run applications are available for each module.

test management software

VSuite is a ready to run software for Engine Tests, Electromechanical Test Systems and Automated Test Systems, which offers a platform agnostic approach to any test need.

VSuite eliminates software development efforts. Test engineers can focus only the application requiring their domain expertise.

VSuite automatically detects UEI hardware and there are plenty of support packages for other industrial hardware.

Hardware in the Loop and Automated Test Systems

UEI platform is designed to address the needs of HIL and ATE applications. All required I/O and bus options are available like, Discrete IOs, Analog IOs, Avionics and MIL buses, load and signal conditioning modules. A differentiator of the platform is LVDT-RVDT, Synchro-Reolver, Straing-Gage simulator modules for device simulations.

System can be configured as Hosted to use with external computers or Embedded with UEI deployment options to programmed with C, MatLab or Simulink for HIL and model-based applications.

radar test systems

Radar Target Echo Simulator is one of its kind systems developed on NI USRP RIO with Labview.

The Radar Test System replaces Optical Delay Lines and similar outdated systems for your lab and field needs. Radar Test System can generate 2 independent targets with an easy to use GUI which enable users to create/modify/load/save scenerios. Default system bandwidth is 160MHz and frequency is up to 6GHz. VTest has options to extend frequency range up to 40GHz and bandwidth to 1.5GHz.

Avionics DAQ Applications

UEI platform offers MIL grade rugged DAQ instruments to flight test and instrumentation applications. All measurement needs are covered by COTS modules for fast delivery.

With embedded options, UEI products are easily programmed for DAQ and FTI applications. Rugged design is complete with MIL grade IO connectors to ensure signal integrity.

Our techincal team and partners will help you for cabling and to develop custom embedded software for demanding applications.

Resources

Some of the areas we work on.

What is V Diagram?

The V-model is a graphical representation of a systems development lifecycle. It is used to produce rigorous development lifecycle models and project management models. The V-model falls into three broad categories, the German V-Modell, a general testing model and the US government standard. The V-model summarizes the main steps to be taken in conjunction with the corresponding deliverables within computerized system validation framework, or project life cycle development. It describes the activities to be performed and the results that have to be produced during product development.

Handbook: Data Acquisition I/O Applications

UEI’s Applications Handbook, covering data acquisition, embedded I/O, and control, is a 200-page compendium of our design notes and application briefs, and includes a glossary of commonly used DAQ.

Using Accelerometers in a Data Acquisition System

Accelerometers are widely used in industry for measuring vibration in rotating machinery, moving vehicles, aircraft, and in structures. Virtually all accelerometer devices use the force generated by moving a seismic mass to measure acceleration of the mass. The displacement of the mass or the force developed by the motion of the mass is detected and measured by a very wide range of sensors, such as electromagnetic, electrostatic, magnetic reluctance, inductive (LVDT), piezoelectric, piezoresistive, potentiometric, capacitance, strain gauge, servo force-balance and motion-balance, and micromachined semiconductors (MEMS).

Advanced In-Flight Data Recorder

Taking advantage of the small size and high I/O density of a PowerDNA Cube and associated I/O modules, Cessna engineers have designed, built, and tested their new Micro-Pak in-flight data acquisition system in record time. The system is initially being used to collect in-flight near-real-time data from the new Model 162 SkyCatcher™ single engine piston powered, 2-seater, all metal, high wing monoplane. Cessna expects to produce up to 700 SkyCatchers a year at full-rate production. The aircraft will cruise at speeds up to 118 knots and will have a maximum range of 470 nautical miles. It will be capable of Visual Flight Rules/Day/Night operation.

HIL Systems

UEI offers superior hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) I/O for your control, test and monitoring simulations. With solutions designed for aerospace, military, oil/gas, space and more, our robust and flexible HIL offerings ensure application success. We focus on exactly what you need -- from software integration (SIMULINK to C), hardware I/O (avionics, simulated synchro, LVDT, RTD, TC, etc), to signal routing (simulated, real or fault signals) to the device under test. You get the right system and unmatched support from UEI.

ENGINE TEST Systems

UEI’s systems are perfect for many types of engine test applications. Whether you are collecting dynamic high-speed data monitoring vibration or lower-speed monitoring of temperature and strain, UEI has your application solution covered. Control your FADEC with ARINC-429 or MIL-STD-1553 to ensure your signals and sensors are valid. When you need to collect your signals accurately, you can rely on UEI!

UEIDAQ Quick Reference Guide

Awesome guide for products, services and applications of UEI platform. UEI systems are deployed in a wide variety of configurations – including I/O slaves under control of a host PC, fully stand-alone data loggers or embedded controllers – and even as a hybrid, running applications locally, but taking direction from (or sharing data with) a host PC on the network.
